Turn Coat - Book Review
Title: Turn Coat (Book 11/11 in the Dresden Files series)
Author: Jim Butcher
Number of Pages: 418
Genre: Mystery/Sci-Fi/Fantasy
Book Number/Goal: 46/50 in 2009
Review: Absolutely fantastic. I enjoyed every single page of this book. It also left me with just enough resolution that I can *almost* patiently wait for #12 to be released in April, though I'm quite interested to see in what direction things will now unfold.
***SPOILERS BELOW*** I think this is one of the best books of the entire series. It was completely engaging from start to finish.
The scene between Murphy and Dresden was everything a (non-pervy) shipper could have asked for. It was absolutely beautiful, and beautifully done.
The big fight scene was amazing. I would love to have seen it as a movie, ala Lord of the Rings style. It was just that good.
I'm neither surprised nor overly sad about Thomas' current situation. I think it's very much going to bite Dresden in the ass though. Thomas knows far too much.
I'm sure no one is shocked, but while it was nice to see Dresden happy, bye-bye Ana. :D I couldn't help it, but even after they body-switch, I still couldn't picture her as anything other than a clone of Madame Hooch in the Harry Potter movies. I liked her better that way.
I'm going to miss Morgan. But, as Dresden pointed out, he died exactly how he lived - for the good of the Council. I didn't particularly like his character, but I like what his character brought to the story.
I can't wait to see how the Gray Council vs. the Black Council unfolds. I truly hope that this new dynamic feeds the story for many novels to come.
