Book number/Goal: 12/25 for 2009

This was a really good book! The basic plot is that Will, the most useless man in the world, who sits around all day and parties all night on the royalties from a Christmas song his father wrote, decides to join a single parents' group in order to meet women. He ends up meeting a depressed single mother, Fiona, and her 12-year-old son, Marcus, who is pathetically socially inept. The writing style is hilarious, both from Will's point of view and Marcus'. I also liked that it didn't have a classic happy ending; everyone ended up happy, but not all the loose ends were tied up. One issue I had in reading was that the '90s culture references kept making me laugh (Snoop Doggy Dogg's name will never not be funny), but years from now it will be an excellent portrait of the '90s for people who didn't experience it.
