Dead Beat: Book Review
Title: Dead Beat (Book 7/11 in the Dresden Files series)
Author: Jim Butcher
Number of Pages: 396
Genre: Mystery/Sci-Fi/Fantasy
Book Number/Goal: 37/50 in 2009
Review: I definitely enjoyed this one. It was quite unusual. It wasn't as good as the last one, IMO, but as the last one is probably my favorite in the series, I wasn't expecting it to be. I'm definitely looking forward to starting the next one tonight.
***SPOILERS BELOW***
I found the plot to be quite interesting and the story was well written. The end, as always, was a page turner that I couldn't put down (and go to bed like a good girl). Anyone who has read any of my previous reviews can probably guess why I thought this book wasn't as good as the last one though...virtually NO MURPH! WTF?!?! *pouts*
Sue almost makes up for it though. Ina two words - TOTALLY WICKED!
Two things from this book have me curious - are we going to find out who the mortal traitor is in upcoming books? (Or did that get figured out and I missed the clue?) And, what is Dresden going to do with his Warden status?
Another interesting thing to note, after not really knowing much (if anything) about necromancy, I sure am running in to it a lot lately - Dresden Files, True Blood, Harry Potter Fanfic...
