Goal: 50 non-fiction books between May 2009 - September 2009
Definition of "book": textbooks don't count - by which I mean anything I have to read for my classes
Books read so far: 0

A little about my goal and my reading habits: I know that I don't read enough non-fiction, and I don't read enough in Japanese - because I'm slow and it's very frustrating. My interests are mainly linguistics, cognitive science, history, and pseudoscience. I'd like at least half of the books I'll read to be non-English, preferably German or Japanese.

Wow. That sounds like a tough call to me. I'm a fast reader but not with non-fiction or other languages. That's pretty inspiring actually. *ponders plotting new goals* Good luck!

Thank you! I thought it might be a little too much too, but then, the worst that could happen is that I won't make it, and setting a goal like that might actually make me try harder :). Also, full disclosure: English isn't my first language, so I tend to be pretty optimistic when it comes to foreign languages, because of look-at-what-I-did-here-yay sort of thing :) Good luck to you too!
